Biography:

Nouha Baccour was born in Sfax, Tunisia, in 1981. She has an engineering degree (2005), and a Msc (2006) in computer science at the National Engineering School of Sfax, Tunisia. Currently, she is a research assistant at computer science department, National Engineering School of Sfax, Tunisia. Since January 2007, she is a PhD student at the National Engineering School of Sfax, Tunisia. Her research activity is conducted within ReDCAD research unit, in colaboration with CISTER research unit. She is involved as an external collaborator in the CONET European Network of Excellence, in particular with the research cluster COTS-based architecture for QoS in large-scale distributed embedded systems. She is also involved as an external collaborator in The ART-Wise framework (ART-WISE). Her current research interests are in the field of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN). They are focused on the characterization, quality estimation, and modeling of low-power links; mobility management schemas; and hierarchical routing.

Reseach Activity:

Currently, I am driving RadiaLE framework for benchmarking link quality estimators (LQEs) in WSNs. RadiaLE is a test-bed that enables the performance evaluation of existing and future LQEs. It comprises the hardware components of the WSN test-bed (TelosB nodes, USB cables/hubs) and a software tool for setting up and controlling the experiments and also for analyzing the collected data, allowing for LQEs evaluation (more details are given here).

RadiaLE software tool as well as TinyOS/TOSSIM2 implementation of several Link Quality Estimators are now publicly available as open-source at open-lqe web site (http://www.open-lqe.net).
