Research Topics
My main fields of interest are concentrated on
deployment and management of adaptive distributed applications. In fact, improving information propagation in distributed systems is an important concern of
publish/subscribe systems especially when deployed on mobile ad-hoc networks. These
networks are characterized with dynamic topology, limited bandwidth, strong constraints on
energy, limited physical security and lack of infrastructure. In this context, it?s imperative to
maintain good quality of service and react before failure. Our goal is first to optimize the
overall performance of the system by ensuring desired QoS, then to ensure information
delivery to consumers in case of dispatcher or link failures. In our work, we overcome the
above mentioned problems by suggesting a global autonomic architecture to support
adaptation and self-organization of publish/subscribe system built on MANET. Thus, we
focus on providing a decentralized approach for P/S system self-adaptativity ensuring both
message delivery and QoS requirements. Our system is based on the self-adaptativity process
forming a fully autonomic loop that maps to the monitor, analyze, plan and execute control
loop. Thus, the system has to monitor itself, to detect QoS degradation or predict a failure, to
look for a solution and finally to execute it. The approach embodied in our architecture
reasons locally by creating an autonomic component in each node, responsible for local
adaptation in case of QoS degradation. Then, we extend the local adaptation scope by
considering cooperative issues by interacting the different models encapsulated in nodes in
order to ensure the global desired QoS.
