Olivia Competition

ENIF

ENIS Industrial Forum (ENIF)

ENIF, short for ENis Industrial Forum, is an annual event organized by the members of the IEEE IAS ENIS SB that brings together important industrialists alongside prestigious guests, professors, and students in different fields. The event is characterized by the diversity of the sections, company stands, and offers, and the quality of the interventions provided by the national pioneers and international speakers.
The 2021 event edition includes the OLIVIA Competition. The subject is Internet Of Things for SMART AGRICULTURE.

Presentation of OLIVIA Competition

The subject of the competition is IOT for SMART AGRICULTURE. OLIVIA's vision is to see olive trees not only as a target for monitoring, but also as part of the monitoring infrastructure in the spirit of the Internet of Things (IoT) revolution. Networked olive tree sensors record and transmit physiological data at the level of individual trees together with environmental parameters. Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods use this information in combination with environmental data to predict the condition of the olive parcel. By detecting anomalies in the sensor data time series, risks to olive trees with respect to water supply can be identified at an early stage. Analogous to weather observation, the olive tree parcel receives its own monitoring and early warning system.
