Research activities

Ph.D thesis

My main fields of interest are concentrated on context-aware applications. My PhD thesis deals with several issues in the field of ubiquitous computing, context and context awareness. The main area of work is on context classi cation and context analysis. The context classicfiation approach takes into account the context parameter evolution. According to our context classi cation, we distinguish three categories namely tendency category, peak category and burst category. For the analysis approach, it is formalized through two analysis procedures. An analysis procedure for context change detection and an analysis procedure for context prediction. The analysis procedures provide the necessary guidelines to the application designers in order to design context aware applications.

Master's thesis

My master's thesis aims to define and validate an approach for monitoring and analyzing Publish/Subscribe systems deployed on mobile ad hoc networks. Initially, the monitoring phase relies on a set of measurements to track quality-of-service metrics. These measurements are then used in the analysis phase to characterize the system's state. Additionally, our analysis approach is reactive in the sense that it is primarily based on detecting degradations in quality of service. To address the non-stationarity of measurements, our approach leverages both statistical methods and extreme value theory. Fundamentally, the analysis approach relies on comparison against an adaptive dynamic threshold value that adjusts according to the network's dynamics.

HEALING - Erasmus+ Project

Project Title: Developing a Multidisciplinary Diploma on Art Therapy in Health Education

Duration: January 2020 - December 2023

Project Description:

The HEALING project is a multi-country curriculum development initiative aiming to introduce the concept of art therapy by developing a multidisciplinary diploma and establishing Art Therapy Centres in Tunisia and Jordan. The project addresses multidisciplinary academic subjects of Education, Arts and Health under "Curriculum Development".

The project highlights the potential benefits of art therapy for at-risk categories such as children or adult refugees. It introduces innovative tools and methodologies for modernization and internationalization in Jordan and Tunisia, focusing on:

  • New methods and technologies to improve digital resources availability
  • Support for teachers and students in the capacity building process
  • Development of a new Diploma in Art Therapy

The project plans to create a network of Arts Therapists and a community of professionals, producing multiplier effects at local, regional, national and international levels.
